Texaco

Following a competitive tender process astley was awarded sole supplier status for the UK by leading petroleum giant Texaco.

Following award, a comprehensive design and prototyping process began to understand the aesthetic along with the structural complexities of the manufacture. To assist our skilled draughtsman our design department compiled a technical signage manual which included all external, internal and secondary signage designs. Working closely with Texaco and their appointed project management company astley agreed specifications, materials and manufacturing methods.

Items are manufactured at our Gateshead plant where complex items are assembled before despatch to ensure compliance and illumination levels are checked. Completed items are delivered to site by our own vehicles and installed by our engineers who hold PASMA, SPA passports and CSCS certificates.

We support Texaco by offering comprehensive site surveys, risk assessments, design packs, planning design packs, forecourt clearance certificates, commercials, site tracking information, completion photographs, management reports and installation programmes.

One of the most impressive sites we helped brand to date was Skelton Lakes in Leeds.

This was the first Texaco motorway services in the UK and involved a full branding exercise of all the graphic elements including 2 x 8m twin-flag totem signs, a new 1000mm high canopy which incorporated new LED illumination, new fully clad stanchions and HGV canopies. It truly is one of Texaco’s flagship forecourts.

This site has also since received a Forecourt Trader Award for Special Recognition award in 2020!

working safely

Our PFS installation crews, surveyors and project managers each hold SPA documentation authorising them to work on live petrol forecourts.

We have a dedicated installation department which schedules and coordinates the timetable of our engineers. Installations are programmed to coincide with the completion of manufacture and crews are nominated ahead of the project deadline.

Our engineers are trained in all areas of health and safety standards and carry IPAF certificates for working with access equipment such as scaffolding and moving platforms, SPA Safety Passports for working in or near hazardous locations such as fuel stations, special licenses for driving and operating HIAB trucks and cranes, PASMA for mobile access equipment and first aid qualifications.
